Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for 2 permanent full-time in-scope Streets & Roadways Operator positions for the Streets and Roadways Department.

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Streets and Roadways, you will be part of the crew, which is responsible for maintenance of streets, lanes, bridges, underground storm drainage collection system, sidewalks, buildings, etc. Job advancement in the Streets and Roadways Department is attainable through skills certification.  

Basic Requirements:
    Grade 12 education;
    Completion of Respect Group Training and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check required upon hire.
    Previous related experience and proven ability to perform the duties in an efficient and skillful manner;
    Must have a valid class 3A driver's license at the time of hire;
    Must be physically fit and able to perform outside physical labour at all times of the year including various weather conditions and temperature extremes;
    Ability to work well with other employees.

Desirable Requirements:    
    A valid Class 1A (Air Brake endorsement) Saskatchewan Drivers License;
    Excavator Experience
    Ground Disturbance;
    PME certification;
    Flag person Training; and
    OH&S Level 1
*2024 rates listed- 2025 rates to be adjusted upon the ratification of the CUPE Collective Agreement.
