THE POSITION
The Associate Vice-President (AVP), Post-Secondary plays a critical leadership role in shaping and advancing academic programming across Northlands College's University, Health & Wellness, and Tech & Trade divisions. Reporting directly to the Vice-President, Academics, the AVP provides strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure excellence in program development, delivery, and evaluation.
The AVP leads a team of program coordinators, instructors, and administrative staff, fostering a high-performing, learner-centered environment rooted in community and Indigenous perspectives.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and inspiring academic leader with a demonstrated record of success in post-secondary education program development, implementation, and evaluation. They will be a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with experience managing teams, administering budgets, and delivering results aligned with institutional goals.
With a deep understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and inclusive educational practices, the successful candidate will champion culturally responsive learning, support faculty and student development, and navigate change with integrity and innovation.
A bachelors degree in education, Indigenous Studies, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree or professional designation considered an asset).
Minimum of Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in education, with emphasis on post-secondary program management.
