Description

There are 3 positions available. One in Montreal Lake Cree Nation, One in Little Red River Reserve, and one in Prince Albert.
The Mental Health Therapist is a key member of the Youth Programming team and plays a vital role in promoting mental wellness and providing therapeutic support within the First Nation community. Working from a culturally responsive and trauma-informed framework, the therapist will deliver direct clinical services to individuals, families, and groups, while also supporting community wellness initiatives. The position emphasizes holistic care that integrates traditional Indigenous practices and values with contemporary therapeutic approaches.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide individual, family, and group therapy to community members across the lifespan, with a focus on issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, and interpersonal conflict.
    Conduct mental health assessments using culturally appropriate and evidence-based tools.
    Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families.
    Provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention services as needed.
    Maintain confidentiality and clear, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
    Provide individual, family, and group therapy to community members across the lifespan, with a focus on issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, and interpersonal conflict.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
    A Master's degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
    Registration and good standing with a recognized professional regulatory body (e.g., Saskatchewan College of Social Workers, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, etc.)
