Job Description: Reporting to the Director, the Psychologist PhD Senior will provide guidance and clinical oversight for the delivery and quality of Peer Support services with respect to the ongoing program and organizational development, which is vital to the teams health, growth, and ability to function effectively. Assessing Peer Support team members for suitability and role-related stress will be a key function of this position. Maintaining cultural competencies, recognizing and reviewing evidence-based treatment approaches and being recognized by the staff/Peer Support teams as a safe and reliable source of psychological interventions will allow the continued work with the Peer Support teams, including attendance at interventions when the strategic plan calls for formal mental health support (i.e., participation in Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs)).

Education
- PhD in Clinical Psychology
- Maintain current training in Critical Incident Stress Management by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).
Experience
- 2 years clinical experience as a PhD Psychologist working with trauma therapies (i.e., eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Theory (DBT)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the complexities of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) available supports and services, and the unique cultural environment of the working groups are necessary to perform this role.
- Knowledge of the processes of both WCB and Insurance Carrier claims in order to provide oversight and collaborate with the Specialist in recommending the appropriate resource after a critical incident.
