Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Vehicle Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing Kahkewistahaw First Nations fleet of vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance, tracking milage, implementing key management systems and enforcing safety protocols. This role is critical to operating vehicle efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance company and regulatory standards. This position is responsible for ensuring that all company vehicles are maintained in excellent working condition, operating safely, and used efficiently. Training of new department staff. The Vehicle Fleet Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and will collaborate regularly with departments such as operations, operations & maintenance and housing to support Kahkewistahaw First Nations goals related to vehicle and fleet management.
REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:  
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, transportation administration or certificate; Heavy Equipment Operator.  
2. Licensed operator of grader, backhoe, loader, skid steer and cat.  
3. 2-3 years' work experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, or a related field.
4. Experience working within the transport industry in the fields of safety records management.  
5. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance best practices.  
6. Must have good written and verbal communication skills to effectively deal with employees, internal and external agencies, vendors and Chief & Council.  
7. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
8. Must have strong leadership skills and supervisory skills.  
9. Have strong organizational, problem solving and analytic skills.  
10. Must have typing, filing, organizational and excellent computer skills.
