The Role
Reporting to the supervisor, maintenance, the heavy duty mechanic utilizes their trade to ensure Cigar Lakes slurry haul fleet and other heavy equipment are effectively maintained and fit for service. The heavy duty mechanic works to ensure that mobile heavy equipment is operating efficiently and reliably. The safe, effective efforts of the tradesperson in this role play an important part in the success of our operation.
In this role, you will:
-Work primarily on surface, though some work underground may be required.
-Work both individually and as part of a team to service our slurry haul fleet and other heavy equipment, following our preventative maintenance schedule.
-Perform preventative maintenance inspections, lubrications, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete overhauls, and conduct repair work as needed.
Required:
-Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic or truck and transport certificate
-Five years of related experience with mobile heavy equipment maintenance and truck and transport equipment maintenance
-Ability to utilize OEM diagnostic software
-Team player with good communication skills
-Excellent safety record
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking using SAP
