Northwest School Division requires a full-time permanent, School Counsellor with duties to commence August 25, 2025.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in a Human Service Field (So-cial Work, Counselling, Psychology) or a Bachelor of Education with course-work and experience in professional counselling.
Candidates with a Masters in a Counselling field are preferred and preference will al-so be given to applicants that have knowledge in areas including, but not limited to, depression and anxiety, drug and alcohol addictions, family of origin, behavioural in-terventions, relationships, sexual abuse, and parenting skills. As well, candidates should have an awareness of other agencies that would be available for referrals and support.
Membership with a recognized professional association (Canadian Counselling Asso-ciation or College of Social Work) would also be considered an asset. The successful candidate will be a part of a dynamic team of experienced professionals.
The School Counsellor will provide professional counselling service to elementary students within their assigned schools in the areas of student well-being, social and personal, educational, and vocational issues. The successful candi-date will also be a part of the division Critical Incident and Stress Management (CISM) team and provide ongoing professional development to our school based well-ness coordinators.
