Description

What is the role?
The Oil Distributor operator position is a full-time seasonal position. This position requires a minimum 3A license. This position involves a high level of skill and attention to detail to ensure precise and efficient application of oil to road surfaces. Regular maintenance is required to ensure the equipment is operating smoothly. The driver must be flexible, have excellent driving skills, and effective communication.
Operate the oil distributor truck to spray asphalt emulsions on road surfaces
Ensure the proper mixture of water to oil is added to the oil distributor to meet the specifications of
the contract
Regulate burner to heat liquid to start auxiliary pump
Connects hose from storage tank to truck and moves lever to fill pressure tank with asphalt liquid
Regulate flow gages to maintain uniform distribution of oil on the roadway
Ensure the spray nozzles are kept clear
Communicate effectively with paving foreman
Perform daily maintenance tasks on truck
Operate other equipment from time to time such as the broom or skid steer
Perform other tasks/labor activities as requested by the paving foreman which may include, raking,
shoveling, operating a variety of other heavy equipment

What do we value?
Minimum class 3A Drivers License
Preferable to have past experience operating an Oil Distributor
Preferable to have past experience safely handling oil products
Willing to travel and overnight across Saskatchewan
Able to work in shifts that are 10 days and 4 days off
Must be willing to work overtime
Have a clean drivers abstract
Be flexible and able to adjust to task change
