Description

This position reports to the Director of Asset Management and is responsible for technical duties associated with the operation of the departments AutoCAD/GIS systems and the provision of mapping/drafting services for the City.  This position also assists with various field activities associated with capital projects, infrastructure replacement, maintenance programs, and property development.  The work is performed in a highly technical environment and requires skills for both office and field practices.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the Citys AutoCAD mapping system; responsible for filing, organizing and record keeping duties for City drafting, mapping and engineering documentation/information.
-Manage technical office equipment and AutoCAD/GIS software systems
Oversee all drafting and mapping including but not limited to: City base and topographic maps, aerial/ortho photographs, lot sales drawings, planning projects, subdivision layout, zoning and legal plan maps, utility distribution maps and record drawings, and maintain all department records of same.
Implement and oversee the city-wide operation of GIS this includes liaising with other City Departments, Information Services Corporation and other organizations to ensure that data is integrated accurately as per departmental needs.

Analyze, collect, track and report on a wide variety and incorporate the data into mapping and financial software.
Education, Designations and Certifications
Successful completion of a computer aided draftsperson diploma or certificate program, or an equivalent program and/or work experience
Previous experience in Municipal Engineering is an asset.
Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license.
Completion of Respect Group Training and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check required upon hire.
