Description

KC Care Drivers play an essential role in the safe and timely transportation of children to and from supervised visits, school, daycare, medical appointments, and out-of-town services. Operating on scheduled shifts, each driver is assigned a consistent caseload to ensure routine and stability for children and families. This position requires a calm, trauma-informed approach, particularly when supporting clients with high emotional or behavioural needs. Professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and attention to safety are critical.

Key Duties:
Transport children using approved routes and in accordance with EHC protocols.
Complete daily vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness and readiness.
Ensure child car seats are installed and secured properly.
Provide supportive, respectful interaction with all children and caregivers.
Maintain communication with Scheduler and Coordinator regarding delays, incidents, or schedule changes.
Document trip details including times, mileage, and observations using provided tools.
Respond to incidents or behavioural escalations using trauma-informed techniques.
Report safety concerns or client issues promptly.
Attend required training sessions and team meetings.

Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in transportation, social services, or working with children.
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and access to a reliable, roadworthy, and fully compliant vehicle that meets insurance and safety requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
Clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Driver's Abstract.
Understanding of child safety legislation and duty to report.
Experience with high-needs children is an asset.
