Description

Kopahawakenum Community School on the Flying Dust First Nation is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join our dedicated faculty.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical health, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness habits in students from Grade 1 through Grade 8. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a supportive school community that values whole-child education. We pay according to Saskatchewan Teachers Federation salary grid.
Key Responsibilities:
    Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Phys.Ed lessons for students in Grades 18.
    Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel supported in their physical and social-emotional development.
    Teach fundamental movement skills, team sports, individual fitness activities, and health education topics.
    Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
    Organize and support school-wide events such as sports days, intramural competitions, and wellness initiatives.
    Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and contribute to school community life.
Qualifications:
    A bachelors degree in Education; a Masters Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate would be considered an asset.  
    Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers Certification
    Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Professional Teacher Regulatory Board (SPTRB).  
    Experience in working with First Nations Schools & Communities.
    Previous experience teaching physical education to elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
    Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and engage learners.
    CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
