Description

The Environmental Health Public Office/Supervisor works collaboratively with BRT6HC communities to identify and prevent environmental public health risks. The EPHO/S provides guidance, education, public health inspections and recommendations on matters relating to the day-to-day operation of BRT6HC Environmental Public Health Program.

QUALIFICATIONS
* University degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
* Three years of experience in Environmental Health, with experience supervising.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills, with an emphasis on collaborative problem solving.
* Abilities and behaviours associated with the core competencies with an emphasis upon planning and organizing, analytical and problem solving, interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork, and leadership and learning. Abilities and behaviours associated with the core competencies with an emphasis upon agency awareness and building community, planning, and organizing, client focused, interpersonal relationships, collaboration and teamwork, adaptability and leadership and learning as an EPHO.
* A clear understanding of Environmental Public Health
* Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive information and documents exercising confidentiality, discretion, good judgement, and exercising tact, courtesy, and diplomacy always.
* Ability to lead, mentor and support employees, conduct performance reviews and apply appropriate disciplinary actions.
* Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization.
* A successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
* Proficient with computers, i.e., Microsoft Office 2011, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and SharePoint, Microsoft Teams.
