Description

Subterra HDD is seeking backhoe operators, excavator operators, and labourers to join our team. Must be willing to travel and work extended hours (12+ hours/day). The successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual with strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a high regard for safety in the workplace. Previous knowledge and experience working in HDD is required.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Completing horizontal directional drilling projects in Saskatchewan
- Operating backhoe (digging pick up holes, etc.)
- Preparation of bore sections (i.e. marking out utilities to be daylighted)
- Mixing mud and hauling water
- Completing tooling changes
- Performing maintenance on equipment
- Transporting equipment to site
- Setting up and preparing drilling rig for operation
- Keeping work areas clean
- Following and abiding by safe work practices
- Participating in all HSE related activities; including attending safety meetings, performing daily equipment checks, completing safety paperwork

Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Must have clean driver's abstract and Class 5 License
- Class 1A license considered an asset
- Experienced equipment operator with confidence and knowledge in digging near utilities
- Strong aptitude for reading geotechnical drawings, maps, diagrams, et. al.
- Must possess the following valid and current certifications: First Aid CPR-C, Global Ground Disturbance II, SCOT, WHMIS, TDG, Common Safety Orientation
- Experience operating Digi-Trak F5 locating system an asset
- Experience operating Ditch Witch JT4020 drill an asset
- Mechanically Inclined
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs +
- Willing to travel, work extended hours, and work in extreme weather conditions
