Brief Job Description

The Shunt Truck Driver is responsible for performing safe and efficient moves of containers or chassis between different locations at the plant to contribute to optimal operations.

Responsibilities

Drive a shunt truck to move chassis or chassis with containers, transferring freight between locations in order to contribute to the smooth operation.
Back trailers into designated areas as requested.
Perform circle checks to make sure trailers, shunt truck and other pieces of equipment are fit for use.
Ensuring proper handling and disposal of waste.
When required, providing assistance in loading product; including, but not limited to operating a scan gun, wrapping pallets, and loading containers.
Ability to lift heavy objects minimum of 40lbs and should be in overall good physical health, lots of walking, standing, crouching and lifting heavier materials.
Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work wit other staff members to get a particular job done.
Perform other tasks contributing to the smooth operation of the facility.
Requirements

Valid Class 1A Driver's License and 2 years experience with cleaning driving abstract.
Equipment Operator experience/certification (Forklift, Reach, Scissor Lift)
Ability to work and communicate well with others.
Must be reliable, hardworking, responsible, energetic and dependable.
Daily exposure to typical manufacturing areas will be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, high visibility vest and hearing protection where required.
