PRINCIPAL  PELICAN LAKE

Pelican Lake First Nation is currently accepting applications for the position of SCHOOL PRINCIPAL to begin in Fall 2025.  Pelican Lake School is a Grade 7 to Grade 12 school operated on the Pelican Lake First Nation, located about 175 kms northeast of North Battleford, SK.

The Principal will provide leadership and administration to our Staff and Students in a manner that supports continuing education and professional growth.

Requirements and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to connect with children in a student-centered learning environment in
addition to having an interest or willingness to connect with students outside of the classroom;
- Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and extra-curricular activities
- Be able to prepare students for further educational goals
- Participation in curriculum development and professional development, as required
- Manage requests for materials, resources, equipment and personnel within budget
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and code of ethics;
- Make recommendations to administration on any matter which will improve school excellence;
- Respect, awareness and understanding of First Nation Cultural perspectives and beliefs
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills;
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team;
- Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues;
- Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated organization and analytical skills;
- Perform other duties as required by the Nation and/or their designate.
