Description

City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a permanent full-time Clerk Steno position in the Operations Department. The Clerk Steno performs administrative and clerical functions required for the day to day operations.

This position will perform the following duties:
- Assemble, collate, prepare, maintain and type a variety of technical and administrative material.
- Provide reception services including receiving telephone calls, emails and enquiries.
- Provide administrative support including budget tracking and control, task management, records management and communications.
- Assist with dispatch duties including handling requests for paratransit bus services and two-way radio communications.
- Input and assign public requests for service and efficiency in the MYCIVIC Content Management System.
- Collect, process and deposit monies received and maintain files.
- Issues sales and purchase orders.
- Administrative duties for various City boards, committees and commissions.

Qualified applicants will possess:
- One (1) year Office Administration Certificate or similar education from a recognized program and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in an administrative or clerical role; OR
Grade 12 education plus three (3) years of experience in an administrative or clerical role in a busy office setting.
- Experience with Windows-based systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The ability to learn, understand and operate specialized application software.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license, able to provide current drivers abstract and be insurable.
- Ability to lift 25lbs and walk long distances.
- Strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and establish priorities with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety act and regulations.
