Summary:
In accordance with standards of the Muskoday First Nation (MFN), the Community Safety Officer (CSO) will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment. CSO?s will work alongside with the members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The CSO?s primary duties will enforce MFN by-laws and provincial statutes (e.g. traffic violations, etc.), and investigate disturbances, and unusual activities on MFN also wearing a uniformed presence within the community while on duty. CSO will liaise with schools and community groups and attend functions on the MFN. The CSO will provide these services on a rotational shift basis, based on the needs of Muskoday First Nation. The CSO will primarily report to the Chief of Police.
Encourage public safety:
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; reporting trespassers.
- Secures premises by patrolling property, inspecting buildings, and access points.
Ensure communication with the Justice Coordinator of pertinent information regarding community safety & security matters.
- Completion of Daily/ Shift reports.
- Partake in daily briefings at the start of shifts to inform Supervising CSO.
Skills and Requirements:
- Clear and current Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector check (present on interview).
- Must pass the physical test and the written test (Provincial Standards).
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver?s license and a reliable vehicle, ability to be added to MFN SGII Package Policy (present on interview).
- Three-year driver abstract (present on interview).
The successful candidates will be interviewed on June 18, 2025.
Registration for the successful candidates is June 23, 2025, for the Community Safety Officer Induction Course, approximately six (6) week mandatory full-time training.
