ISC is seeking a dynamic Business Unit Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial results. In this role, you'll manage everything from AR and AP to monthly and quarterly journal entries while serving as the critical link between the corporate finance team and your business unit.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and manage the accounting team, including coaching, training, performance management, recruitment and oversight of team members.
- Facilitate the completion of month end, quarter end and year end accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, preparation and/or review of general ledger and bank account reconciliations and accrual listings.
- Develop, prepare and eventually review internal and external financial and management reports as required.
- Prepare and present quarterly variance analysis related to the assigned business unit. This will include the development, reporting and monitoring of KPIs.
- Support the annual audit including the preparation and assisting staff in preparation of assigned working papers and reports ensuring appropriate support, audit trails and review are documented.
- Establish and ensure the continued operation and improvement of internal control processes. Draft process narratives and update annually and as required.
What You will Need:
- University degree in Business Administration or Commerce focused in Accounting and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is required
- Experience within a public company/public accounting firm with exposure to financial statements, tax and audit responsibilities is preferred
- Ability to constructively coach and supervise staff to achieve positive outcomes.
