Hours of Work: 37.5 weekly working 7:15a-3:45p - Monday to Friday
Under the supervision of the Child Care Director, the Cook team Member is designated to provide meals and snacks that meet the daily nutritional needs of children for the time they
are in the regulated facility. The Cook Team Member is responsible for ensuring proper food safety and maintaining the kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
Creating a 4 week menu that meets the licensing regulations set by the Ministry of Education Early Years
Prepare and serve Breakfast, lunch, and snack for up to 51 children
Ensure children are offered sufficient quality and quantity of foods at appropriate time intervals;
Ensure children are offered types of food prepared and served that meet the childs
developmental capabilities for eating; and,
The creation of a supportive environment for healthy eating which supports responsive
feeding and a positive feeding relationship
Keeping a hygienic work space that meets Health and Safety Regulations
Ordering items based on weekly menu and navigating a budget
Qualifications:
Required:
Current valid Food Handler Certification
Good written and verbal communication skills
CPR/First Aid level C
Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
Asset:
Experience working in a licensed childcare center
