Hours of Work: 18 hours weekly varying
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Food Service, the Caf Cook Team Member is responsible for menu planning, food preparation and expediting at the Cafe in the Kikaskihtanaw Centre for Women and Families.. This position will also be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and additional prep and duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a high quality of both food and customer service with a commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging experience for team members and guests.
Prepare meals as ordered to customer specifications.
Ensure quality control of food production.
Monitor food production and service standards. Fastidious attention to food preparation and presentation.
Prioritize food preparation and cooking tasks
Package takeout food
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner
Operate dishwasher to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
Maintain kitchen in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times as well as perform daily kitchen cleaning tasks at shift close
Ensure that all food is received, stored and prepared according to company standards and in a food safe timeline.
Replenish necessary supplies for smooth food service
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintain highest standards of SHA Food Safe regulations
