Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Higher Learning, the Pre-Employment Service Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and directing all components of the Social Development program. The Pre-Employment Service Coordinator will also be responsible for the Enhanced Service Delivery Program components which include activities, initiatives, and workshops in support of employment opportunities, skills development, home to work transition. The Pre-Employment Service Coordinator will work with employment agencies and training partners. The Pre-Employment Coordinator will be responsible for;
Post-Secondary Diploma plus experience in Human Services or related field.Possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle/ability to travel.Proven knowledge of career/job coaching, assessment techniques and case management process and procedures.
Assist with the implementation of the Social Development program on reserve in accordance with the program regulations.
Work with Social Development Administrator to strengthen delivery of the Pre-Employment Service program and drafting proposals and other documentation.
Will be responsible for a comprehensive case management process through the provision of services specifically for 1864-year-old clients on Income Assistance and living on reserve for the PES portion. Will develop action plans with each client working with barriers and needs to become job ready.
Document and maintain files including resumes, employment history, educational background, and career goals.
Referral of clients to programs and services for training, employment supports, or mental/addiction and job transition supports.
Develop, direct and coordinate the program components, including activities, initiatives and workshops in support of employment opportunities, skills development, childcare, home-work transition.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in computer applications/software.
