The Saskatoon Housing Authority has an employment opportunity with our Community Outreach team. This is a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate must create stability & successful tenancies for at-risk tenants through pre-emptive interventions in challenging tenancies, by effectively identifying needs, coaching, counselling & removing barriers that enable community integration while fostering & maintaining independence.
Key Responsibilities:
. Identify tenant issues/behaviors that threaten the tenancy,
. Engage appropriate resources to provide preventative supports to increase resilience, life skill development, and to achieve longer-term tenancies,
. facilitate the process for at-risk tenants to engage & participate with service & community providers,
. advocate on behalf of at-risk tenants for access to social & financial assistance programs,
. attend case meetings, hearings & if required, appointments with at-risk tenants,
. guide & support tenants to access available services that will assist in achieving independence & a greater sense of well-being,
. support & encourage tenant in life skill development such as home management & budgeting, recognizing that becoming a good tenant is a learned experience.
