Classification: Maintenance Service Worker Department: Maintenance

Status: Relief  no guaranteed hours Pay Band: As per CUPE/SAHO contract

Qualifications: Grade 10, Valid Firemans certificate Class 5, refrigeration certificate. Valid Sask. Class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle in good repair. Twelve (12) months previous experience in a maintenance environment. Six (6) months on the job experience to become familiar with the building, seasonal work, codes and regulation, and district/facility/department policies and procedures. Must be bondable.
Must be able to perform all duties outlined in the job summary. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Administrator, the Maintenance Worker will maintain and operate boilers and accessory equipment, ventilation units, perform plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical repairs, perform preventative maintenance, paint, repairs and install equipment. The Maintenance worker will carry out necessary groundskeeping including mowing, trimming, pruning, weeding and planting, fertilizing, irrigating, removal of snow and ice and repairing and maintaining grounds equipment. Coordinate contract work and coordinates and participate in in-house renovations. Deliveries of mail, linen, pick up supplies/specimens, provides security services  secure entrances, parking lot checks, fire drills, performs housekeeping services  cleaning, garbage removal, ships/receives  orders supplies, receives/ships, maintains inventory. Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner.
