Description

We are seeking a civil superintendent to join our earthworks and underground utilities division.
Duties include:
Ensure the safety of company personnel, subtrades, the public and environment.
Complete and verify staff have completed daily equipment checklists
Complete and verify staff have signed off on daily hazard assessments for your tasks/location
Responsible for maintaining and inspecting equipment to ensure good working order and document conditions prior to shift start. Confirm staff have completed same.
Assist in the efficient use of personnel, materials and equipment to complete the assigned tasks.
Create an atmosphere of teamwork.
Train & mentor junior staff on proper processes and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and excellence
Communication
Communicate with Directors, project managers and clients
Monitor project progress, and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints
Communicate with site foreman to confirm clear instructions have been provided for the assigned tasks
Maintain records of project activities, including daily reports and inspections
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in civil construction industry.
Minimum Class 5 drivers license.
Minimum High School Diploma, additional education is an asset
