Description

Current opportunity - 18-month Term

The Business Transformation team is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to work with service providers, external stakeholders, and internal partners to manage and ensure optimization of financial systems and business processes. This position has a ministry-wide perspective aimed at improving both efficiency and effectiveness through well-designed financial processes and internal controls. You will be involved in the successful implementation of major and complex projects intended to increase the functionality of the ministrys financial payment systems, implement policy and operational changes, as well as new program development.

Responsibilities will include:
- Working with senior management to problem solve and deliver on operational process improvements for enhanced consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness in meeting clients needs.
- Working to identify potential gaps in authorities or financial policies and resolving them through writing, directing, or assisting with policy development.
- Leading the establishment of an internal audit framework for the ministry.
- Using collected data and information to develop interim processes to mitigate financial risk and recommending long-term solutions.
- Ensuring appropriate legislative, regulatory, and government/ministry financial policies are in place within systems and processes.
- Identifying financial system training needs to develop training materials and programs for staff.
