The Library Assistant is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the school library in order to create a positive, welcoming and relevant centre of learning for all members of the school community.
What will make you successful:
A minimum of one year post-secondary education in a field such as business administration or office administration or an approved Library Clerk certificate.
A working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications of Excel, Outlook and Word.
Experience in a library setting would be an asset.
High degree of proficiency in database software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
Proven written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism.
Familiarity with library software is an asset.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
What you can expect:
Hourly rate range: $22.46-$26.27.
Employer matched pension plan.
Hours of work are to be determined. Library Assistants are not scheduled to work during school vacation periods including the summer break.

Some manual labour including regular physical exertion and handling of objects up to 30 lbs. on a repeated basis through the day and pushing weight bearing carts.
