Description

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking an individual with proven leadership skills for the position of Court Security Inspector. As a Special Constable, the Inspector operates under The Criminal Code of Canada, The Police Act, The Court Officials Act 2012 and The Court Security Act, 2012. Reporting to the Superintendent of Court Security, this position is responsible for overseeing Court Security and Prisoner Management in the Southern Region of Regina, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Estevan, Swift Current and Weyburn. The headquarters location for this position is Regina.

During the probationary period, you will be required to

- Successfully complete the Sheriff Officer Physical Abilities Test (SOPAT) with an elapsed time of 6:00 or less.
- Complete a certificate in self-defence training equivalent to the standard of the Provincial Protective Services Training and Standards Unit (TSU).
- Be authorized under The Police Act, 1990, to carry a firearm as identified in the Saskatchewan Police College Firearms Training Manual, and successfully pass a psychological assessment.
- Be certified in First Aid and CPR C.
- Successfully complete all mandatory Inspector courses.

Typically, the experience and knowledge required to achieve the above are obtained through:

- A Bachelors degree in criminal justice.
- Previous occupations relating to government security processes or law enforcement.
public administration.
- Previous and progressive management experience overseeing large staffing units.
or a related field supplemented with significant experience working in the justice/law enforcement area.
