The Ministry of Immigration and Career Training's Policy Branch is seeking a results-driven team player with outstanding relationship-building, communication, analytical and research skills for the role of Senior Policy Consultant in Regina, Saskatchewan. Working on the most topical labour market and immigration issues of the day, this position requires a self-starter with proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to identify creative solutions to complex issues.
Reporting to the Manager of Policy and Intergovernmental Relations, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing analysis and advice on new and emerging opportunities and issues in preparation for meetings, briefings and negotiations;
- Identifying opportunities and challenges, and providing oversight and coordination over strategic priorities and issues impacting Saskatchewan;
- Representing the Government of Saskatchewan in discussions with external stakeholders and on various pan-Canadian tables or in bilateral federal/provincial meetings; and more!
An ideal candidate for this role requires:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders;
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, programs and agreements, as well as advanced writing and analytical skills, in order to provide solutions and strategic advice;
- Pro-active problem identification and solving skills, with the ability to plan and organize multiple complex projects and tasks independently; and more!
Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above are obtained through completion of a graduate degree in public policy, social science, commerce/business or a related field, or through completion of an undergraduate degree combined with relevant experience.
