Under the direction of the North Central Community Association (NCCA) the Community Garden and Recreation Program Assistant will engage with Regina north central community residents for interactive gardening and healthy lifestyle activities.
Duties:
Engage with both the NCCA Community Garden Coordinator and mmawyatitn coordinator to ensure regular maintenance (watering, weeding, harvesting) of the community and mmawyatitn prairie gardens.
Research, develop, deliver, and facilitate informative gardening with regional plants workshops and the benefits of outdoor lifestyle activities that engage the community, build connections, and promote health and well-being.
Create relevant social media content to increase community engagement in the Gardening programming.
Liaise with the NCCA and mc coordinators, high school students and community volunteers, to plan and carry out activities during scheduled Community Garden Gatherings.
Provide support in the planning and execution of a broad range of community engagement activities.
Document weekly work plans, provide an overview of site concerns, make purchasing recommendations, collect statistics, and maintain accurate written reports as per program expectations.
Requirements:
18 29 years of age and eligible to work in Canada.
Enrolled in post-secondary education for 2025-26.
Current vulnerable sector criminal record check.
