The Opportunity

The Information Technology Services Branch is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key link between our business units and IT teams, ensuring that our technology solutions meet organizational needs while adhering to best practices in business analysis and project management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

Lead business, systems, and process analysis efforts to optimize IT systems across the Ministry;
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify business requirements, problem-solve, and deliver solutions that align with both business and technical goals;
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences, both in writing and verbally;

Your Qualifications and Skills

Were looking for a candidate who:

Brings significant experience in business systems analysis, ideally with a background in IT service delivery or project management;
Is a critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work strategically across multiple teams;
Possesses a deep understanding of business analysis methodologies, software life cycles, and process improvement frameworks; and
Knowledge of Cognos, Microsoft Dynamics, eORS, and Azure DevOps is a strong asset.

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to be successful in this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration, as well as the completion of a Business Analyst certification (such as IIBA, CBAP, AAC, etc.), along with several years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
