Description

The Settlement Advisor supports Newcomers to Estevan through personalized settlement planning, resource navigation, and community connections. This role involves a mix of in-office and outreach-based work, building strong relationships with participants and community partners to ensure seamless access to services.

Key Responsibilities:
Register new clients with Career Services ICT to obtain Client ID numbers
Meet with Newcomers to identify settlement needs and develop individualized action plans
Provide referrals, resources, and ongoing support tailored to each participant
Travel within the catchment area to deliver in-person support when needed
Maintain strong relationships with community organizations and immigration offices
Facilitate access to employment supports and specialized services
Ensure availability through various channels (phone, online, in-person)
Support Newcomers with information about housing, healthcare, driving, education, employment, and more
Plan and participate in events that engage Newcomers and encourage community involvement
Keep accurate, up-to-date records in Simple CTS and meet all reporting requirements
Collaborate with other service providers to streamline access to services

Qualifications:
Experience working with Newcomers, immigrants, or vulnerable populations in a community-based setting
Strong knowledge of community resources, provincial and federal immigration processes, and culturally responsive practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills verbal, written, and cross-cultural
Proficient in case management, including intake, needs assessments, goal setting, referrals, and progress tracking
Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities and build trust with individuals from various cultural backgrounds
Experience planning and facilitating community events and outreach activities
Must possess a Class 5 drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle
