Description

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan seeks an effective communicator and collaborator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills for a full-time Reference Clerk position.  Under the supervision of the Manager of Reference and Outreach Services and Reference Archivists, the successful applicant will play an essential role in providing a variety of client services.

In this challenging and rewarding position, the Reference Clerk will be responsible for:

- Customer service at our public Reading Room including greeting and registering clients, providing orientations on various archival equipment including microfilm readers, and assisting researchers while developing a positive and welcoming environment.
- Retrieving and interfiling material as well as creating reproductions and conducting basic conservation work for archival records.
- Financial transactions including creating invoices, processing client payments or refunds, financial reporting, and statistical tracking.
- Teamwork and collaboration with the ROS team and other PAS units to ensure needs are being met.

The ideal candidate will be a customer service advocate with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration. They will be a self-motivated and highly organized individual who is detail-oriented. They will have strong communication skills and respect for all individuals.

The knowledge and abilities required for this position would typically be obtained through experience working in an office, archives, or library environment. Additional education obtained from undergraduate courses in history or the Social Sciences, archival or library technician course work, and/or secretarial/administrative services training is an asset.
