Description

Prairie Spirit School Division invites applications for the position of Summer Student Maintenance Worker. This CUPE position starts July 2, 2025, and ends August 29, 2025, and reports to the Facilities Supervisor, with an expected schedule of (1x 1.0 FTE  40 hours per week) four 10-hour shifts per week. The salary for this position is $17.00 per hour. The successful candidate will be required to work based out of the School Services Building located in Warman, SK, providing service to schools throughout the division.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will:
Be motivated and reliable
Be looking to gain hands-on experience in facility and grounds maintenance while contributing to the upkeep and appearance of our buildings and outdoor spaces
Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs
Assist with lawn care, landscaping, and outdoor upkeep
Support custodial staff with cleaning and organizing facilities
Operate basic maintenance equipment safely and responsibly
Be willing to be flexible with both the location of work and the type of tasks assigned
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
A valid drivers licence is required
Have WHMIS training or a willingness to obtain this training.

In addition, the candidate should:
Be a strong team member and good communicator.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Be well-planned and well-organized.
Show evidence of being a life-long learner.
Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
Be returning to secondary or post-secondary school in the fall.
