Description

The Ministry of Trade and Export Development is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and accomplished professional for a 14-month term position as Investment Attraction Officer, in the Investment Relations Branch in Regina or Saskatoon.

The Investment Attraction Officer will be a dynamic, high-performing and strong relationship-builder who brings strong business and/or economic development experience to support Saskatchewans Growth Plan through our Ministrys Investment Attraction Strategy.  

The Ideal Candidate will have:

- Knowledge of investment attraction principles and practices, and an understanding of global trade issues and trends with respect to foreign direct investment (FDI).
- A thorough understanding of the Saskatchewan economy and the fiscal, regulatory and policy issues affecting business in the province.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Saskatchewans key sectors, emerging opportunities, and competitive advantage.
- The ability to think critically and view issues and challenges from multiple perspectives, in order to reach mutually acceptable solutions.
- Highly developed research and analytical capabilities with the ability to identify opportunities and impediments to investment.
- Ability to coordinate complex files and projects that involve working co-operatively with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver timely, data-driven, and high-quality advice.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to build relationships with and influence investors, stakeholders, and collaborate across diverse teams.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies for these positions would have been acquired through a university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in economic development and/or investment.
