Description

The Muskoday Health Committee will assist the health staff achieve their mission:
?To facilitate a holistic health service that empowers the community to restore and rebuild the pride of our First Nation.  This will enhance the quality of life for individuals and families through integrated health program promotion, prevention and education.?
Client information is confidential between the staff member and their client and will not be shared with Health Committee members.


Interested Individuals must have knowledge or work experience in the following areas:
-    Infection Prevention and Control;        - Chronic Illnesses;
-    Immunizations;                 - Communicable Diseases;
-    Mental Wellness;                 - Home Care;
-    Nutrition;                    - Harm Reduction;
-    Programs to strengthen families;        - Environmental Health;
-    Culture/Traditions;                - Community Development;
-    Violence Elimination;            - Dental Hygiene;
-    Injury Prevention;                - Suicide Prevention;
-    Health Promotion;                  - Occupational Health and Safety;
-    Risk Management;                     - Addictions.

In addition, those applying for membership on the Health Committee:
?    Will be open-minded and respectful of individual choices and circumstances;
?    Will demonstrate strong oral communication skills;
?    Will maintain confidentiality;
?    Will serve 2-year terms.
?    If successful, members of the Health Committee will participate in and support activities & programs sponsored by the Health Centre.
