Description

Southeast College is seeking twos enthusiastic and responsible Day Camp Leaders to support our Data in a New Way summer program, a component of our Computer Science class.

Reporting to the Coordinator, Applied Research, this position will lead a group of 9 children through structured educational and recreational activities over a 7-week period. The successful candidate will foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and community connection.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and lead structured activities for children.
Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of children during program hours
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, schools, and
community organizations
Represent the program in a professional and community-focused manner
Maintain accurate attendance records and report on program activities and outcomes
Assist with preparation, setup, and cleanup of all events and activities if needed
Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Active student with a post-secondary institution.
ECE or experience with children in vulnerable sectors (preferred)
Experience with First Nations, especially Ocean Man First Nation
Background in child-focused programs (recreation, education, or camps)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Demonstrated experience working in a cross-cultural environment
First Aid/CPR is an asset

Position 1: 7 wks | 3 days/week | 4 hours/day
position 2: 7 wks| 3 days/week | 3 hours/day

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.
