We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small business environment, is comfortable with numbers, and doesnt mind greeting customers or picking up the phone when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping Duties (Primary)
Manage day-to-day financial transactions (e.g., sales entries, accounts payable/receivable)
Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger accuracy
Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as needed
Process payroll on a regular schedule and maintain accurate employee records
Prepare and submit government remittances (e.g., GST, source deductions)
Ensure invoices, receipts, and records are well-organized and up to date
Use accounting software (e.g., Sage) efficiently
Customer Support Duties (Secondary)
Answer incoming calls in a friendly and professional manner
Greet walk-in customers and direct them appropriately
Take messages or assist with basic inquiries when staff are unavailable
Maintain a welcoming front-desk presence
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous bookkeeping experience (especially in a retail environment)
Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage
Basic customer service skills and a pleasant phone demeanor
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Schedule & Flexibility:
2 days per week (specific days are flexible and can be arranged to suit your schedule)
