Job Description: As a member of the Community Recovery Services and under the general direction of the Manager of CRS the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of youth, young adults and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues. Responsibilities include assessment & screening, individual & group counseling, case management & educational sessions.
Human Resources Exemption: No

Education
- Degree in Chemical Dependency Studies or Addiction Counseling, OR
- Another Baccalaureate discipline (generally Social Sciences or Human Services) acceptable to the Employer as well as demonstrated knowledge and competence in clinically assessing individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and addiction issues.
Experience
- One year experience working with a concurrent disorder population in a community setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
- A strong knowledge of the disease of addictions and/or addiction related issues and the effects on the individuals, family unit and community.
- A strong knowledge of the Developmental Model of Recovery; the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery Services; the Motivational Assessment Process.
- Ability to accurately assess addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate recovery plans and referrals.
