Description

We're looking for a Senior Accountant, who will report directly to the hotels General Manager.

Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for hotel staff
Calculate and remit GST and PST payments in compliance with provincial and federal regulations
Prepare accurate and timely month-end financial statements
Manage cheque and EFT processing for supplier payments
Collaborate with department leaders to develop and consolidate the hotels annual budget
Coordinate and support the year-end audit process in partnership with the external accounting firm
Review, issue and approve T4 slips and year-end payroll documentation for all hotel staff
Oversee the administration and overall benefits process

Qualifications:

Preferred: Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA or in progress) and/or 35 years of relevant accounting experience in a hospitality or service-based industry
Required: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.); solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll processes; ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
Beneficial: Experience with accounting software such as Sage 300, and workforce management platform like Payworks is beneficial
ERP/financial systems; familiarity with budgeting and audit preparation processes
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to collaborate across departments and interpret financial documents effectively
Availability: This is a full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required during month-end or audit periods.
