Addictions Counsellor  Battlefords Treatment Centre (Poundmakers Lodge Treatment Centres)

The Addictions Counsellor plays a key role in supporting clients on their recovery journey by providing culturally grounded, client-centered counselling services. This includes developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating group sessions, conducting risk assessments, and offering one-on-one support for clients struggling with substance use and life challenges.

The position requires strong communication, crisis intervention, and documentation skills. Counsellors also promote cultural teachings, facilitate orientation, and ensure adherence to professional standards and treatment centre policies.

Previous experience in addictions counselling is an asset. Knowledge of or connection to Indigenous culture and healing practices is highly valued, contributing to a safe and culturally respectful environment for all clients.
