Description

The Role
Cameco is seeking an environmental professional to join the Rabbit Lake team to support delivery on the operations environmental protection program commitments. As part of the Environment team, you will act as technical lead for the environmental monitoring program, and will be involved in: planning, collection and submission of environmental monitoring samples; review, analysis and management of environmental data; and reporting.  You will also support the development and execution of environmental studies and related technical projects, including progressive reclamation activities. Other responsibilities will include maintenance of the environmental management system, developing and promoting continual environmental performance initiatives and delivering related training.  More broadly, you will also provide support for effective waste management and other environmental compliance and performance improvement activities and initiatives.

In this role, you will:
-Analyse water quality and other environmental performance data and compile and coordinate routine reporting including quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports, and ad hoc reporting as required.
-Support day-to-day program activities, including regular sampling and inspections and supervision of environment technicians
-Act as primary reviewer on various technical reports and study designs, and as a team member in multi-disciplinary review and preparation of other documents, reports and regulatory submissions
-Liaise between site and technical personnel, coordinating various studies and monitoring activities and supporting implementation of recommendations, as required
-Support the functioning and continual improvement of the waste management program and environmental management system by leading various initiatives and supporting required activities

Required:
-Post-secondary degree in environment related field or technical diploma with relevant practical experience
