The school Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for managing school food service in schools with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving a balanced and healthy range of food items in a clean and organized food service environment. The Nutrition Coordinator ensures respectful, positive and professional food services to students, staff and community members.
What will make you successful:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Safe Food Handling Course required.
Certificate or diploma as a Food Service Worker or related discipline would be an asset.
Experience managing kitchen operations and inventories in a commercial food delivery environment is a definite asset.
Ability to perform physical labour including regular lifting objects up to 25 pounds and standing for long periods of time.
Ability to tolerate temperatures from hot ovens, dishwashers and other equipment.
Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare and serve large-scale meals.
Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards and safe food handling practices.
Basic analytical and mathematical skills for measuring ingredients, converting recipes, making change and balancing cash.
Ability to safely use and operate kitchen equipment.
Ability to perform basic food sales and purchasing functions.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.

Hourly rate range: $22.46 - $26.27.

Hours of work are 4 hours per day on school days. Nutrition Coordinators are not scheduled to work during school vacation periods including the summer break.
