The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan seeks an effective communicator, cross-team collaborator, and innovator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills for the Bilingual Reference & Outreach Archivist position. The PAS Reference and Outreach Services Unit (ROS) is a small and friendly team responsible for public reference services and outreach programming for the PAS.
The ideal candidate will be a customer service advocate. You will have strong communication skills and be willing to adapt them to the needs of your audience. You will be adept at working with others across an organization. You will demonstrate respect and appreciation for the uniqueness of all individuals. You will be passionate about history and engaging the public with it.
To qualify for this exciting position, the candidate will have:
- The ability to read, write, and speak English and French fluently.
- Master's degree in Archival Science, or History, or Library and Information Science, or a master's degree in a similar course of study, or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
- Supplemental training courses in archival science and/or experience working in archives are an asset.
Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be willing and able to work in an environment where there may be exposure to dust, moulds, mildew, and physically lift, move and/or transport heavy boxes of materials weighing up to approximately 15 kg onto shelves and/or between worksites using a CVA vehicle. - You will receive training on the safe operation of lift equipment to retrieve materials in our storage area at heights up to 8 metres.
