The Saskatoon Housing Authority is currently offering a full-time 12-month term, in-scope employment opportunity with our Finance Team.
In this position, some of your responsibilities will be:
. recording tenant receivables to the general ledger and sub-ledger.
. accurate submission of monthly preauthorized payments.
. accurate entry of cash, daily telebanking transactions and post-dated transactions.
. posting of daily & monthly billing entries
. prepares deposit for daily pick up
. prepares third party bank deposits & delivers to bank(s).
. reconciles receivables & operating SHA bank account.
. prepares invoicing to tenants, suppliers, outside agencies & third parties.
. verification of contractor coverage with WCB & records contractor payments for WCB reporting.
. Maintains custodial responsibilities for the legal petty cash & general petty cash.
. completes monthly admin reports & journal entries for the Finance Manager
. Maintains tracking spreadsheets for various revenue & expenditures.
. Enter post-dated cheques & specific expenditures information in tenant activity log.
. A high level of confidentiality & integrity are essential in this position.
. attention to detail,a high degree of accuracy, reliability & accountability are necessary
Education:
. completion of an accredited business program with a major in accounting (SIAST/SBC)
. two years experience in a related position (preferred)
. intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft office suite, including Excel along with experience with a database.
. ability to work with minimal supervision
. A clear & satisfactory Criminal Record Check (required upon hire)
. Possess a valid driver's license, have ownership and use of a roadworthy vehicle & additional minimum vehicle third party liability insurance coverage.
