Description

As a member of the MJHA Tenant Services Team, the Housing Resource Officer is responsible for providing services to all tenants of MJHA.
You will be responsible to periodically provide after-hours support ensuring that our rules and policies are being adhered to, respond to building crisis and provide preventative supports to tenants in need.  The HRO is the primary contact for third party and community-based support.  The HRO also provides training to applicants, tenants and community members.
The HRO works a set rotation of shifts (days to evenings) for after-hours support/preventative services ensuring our buildings are safe and secure. Maintaining reports of incidents and encounters with tenants or guests is also required. Enforcing our building ban list as well as providing support and emergent case management to those struggling in their housing are required.  You will travel between locations, work alone, and aid on-call staff as needed.
Competencies and qualifications may have been derived from a combination of education and experience.  A post-secondary degree and at least 2 years experience in the human services field are desired.

Additional requirements:
Excellent written & oral English communication skills
Knowledge of local social resources
Case management, security/bylaw enforcement education/experience are also assets  
Current knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Human Rights Act, Public Health legislation etc., are considered assets.
