Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with designers and the production team to bring artistic visions to life. Work with the production team to ensure that all sound and video needs for productions are met while adhering to time, staffing, and budget requirements. Operate and program sound/video systems including QLab and Isadora. Mix live musicals with up to 20+ cast members on lav microphones with a full band or tracks for approximately one to two productions a season. Maintain and repair all sound/video and related equipment to be in good working order to avoid any loss of time during set-up, rehearsal, or performance, including the main stage sound system and communication systems (Clear com, assistive listening system, program sound). Maintain inventory, source materials, and recommend upgrades as needed. Supervise casual crew and oversee all sound/video installations and strikes. In conjunction with the Technical Director, research and provide recommendations and costing for any equipment upgrades or production specific purchases. Attend and participate in weekly production meetings and daily toolbox meetings as outlined in the production calendar. Using the budget tracking, petty cash, credit card, and purchase order systems to track, code, and submit invoices for all purchases in a timely manner. Develop and maintain the casual labor pool for Globe Theatre in conjunction with the production department. Record and edit pre-show chats with the Artistic Director or designate. Contribute to a safe, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture. Other duties as assigned by the Technical Director/ Director of Production. Qualifications & Experience: Strong knowledge of digital consoles, specifically Digico. Strong working knowledge of sound and video technologies; knowledge of QLab and Isadora an asset. Strong knowledge of current live recording, mixing and editing techniques. Ability to troubleshoot and repair cables and connectors, soldering an asset.
