Description

To restore and/or enhance the mental, emotional and social health and well-being of Community Clinic clients. To do this through individual, couple and family therapy, education, community action, and program leadership.

DUTIES:

To provide psychotherapy to Community Clinic clients and family members.

To provide program leadership as dictated by client and program needs.

To work as part of the health care team.

To participate in health education activities.

To participate in the clinical supervision of practicum students.

To participate on community committees and boards to develop and maintain relevant community services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, or the equivalent in work experience, training and education. (To qualify as having the equivalent to a Masters degree, a person must have a Bachelors degree, such as a B.S.W. or B.A. (Hon. Psych) that includes several courses in counselling theory and practice and a counselling practicum, plus additional training and at least six years experience as a psychotherapist).

Eligible for registration in a professional association and eligible for liability insurance to practice psychotherapy.

Three years experience as an individual, couples and family therapist.

Experience in program and group leadership.

Significant clinical training in a broad range of assessment and treatment skills, for individual, couple and family therapy.

Demonstrated ability to work as an independent practitioner within a multi-disciplinary health care team.

Compatible with the philosophy of the CHSA.

Must be bondable.

EMR experience preferred.
