Saskatoon Public Schools is inviting applications for the position of Wellness Promoter to work as part of the Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) program. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, commencing on or before August 25, 2025. The successful candidate will focus on developing and delivering evidence-based programming to promote mental health and wellness within school communities. The Wellness Promoter will report to the MHCB School Coordinator.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Develop and deliver school-wide and group-based mental health promotion programs.
Engage students, staff, families, and community members to foster positive mental health practices.
Collaborate with schools and community agencies to create supportive environments.
Support awareness and access to mental health and addiction resources.
Assist with evaluation and documentation of MHCB program outcomes.
The successful candidate will have:
A degree, diploma, or certificate in health or social sciences (e.g., social work, public health, psychology, early childhood development).
At least 2 years of experience in mental health promotion or community-based services.
Strong public speaking, group facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated understanding of child and youth development, as well as the social determinants of health.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of social media tools.
A satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check and where applicable, proof of licensure with a Saskatchewan regulatory body.
