Reporting to the Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE) Lands Manager, under the direction of the TLE Trust, this position will be second in command to oversee the Trusts land management initiatives. This position will support the current TLE Lands Manager in delivering the objectives of the Trust by creating reserve status lands. This position will work within the current policies and processes of land use policies and update them as required. The position will ensure compliance with all community, legal, and regulatory requirements and treaty obligations. The position works collaboratively with the CTK TLE Trustees, government, community stakeholders, external partners, and TLE management, and oversees the TLE support services staff to provide accurate and timely lease/contracts administration support, renewals, and general risk management functions. This position will assist the TLE Lands Manager in developing, negotiating, reviewing, approving, and executing lease agreements and will also conduct research, investigate facts, draft documents/reports, and manage the overall recordkeeping and maintenance of the TLE Trust lands. This position will also provide indirect support to the Trustees, as required, while managing highly confidential and sensitive material and information
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities.
Advanced knowledge and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Knowledge of legislation regarding land management, environmental stewardship, treaty land entitlement, and First Nation governance processes.
Strong and committed team player - productive and progressive outside the box ability to build and sustain strong, sound, interactive relationships with all levels of management, staff, government, leasees, and the community. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
