Occupational Therapist
Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires a permanent, part-time 0.6 FTE (3 days/week or 24 hours/week) Occupational Therapist. The position will be located in our Kenaston head office or Saskatoon Elementary Campus and commence on August 26, 2025.
Sask DLC is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation, created to deliver high-quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. Sask DLCs head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and regional campuses located in Estevan, Kenaston, La Ronge, Moose Jaw, Neilburg, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current and Yorkton.
Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
Reporting to the Superintendent of Student Supports, the Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services that support students in developing the physical, sensory, and motor skills needed for participation and success in school and daily activities. The OT works collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals to support students in both academic and functional skill development. Services may include assessment, intervention, consultation and program planning, with delivery online and in-person formats. The OT also plays a key role in building the capacity of school staff and families through professional learning, coaching and resource development.
Primary Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with the Student Support Team to support the Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (RTI/MTSS) framework, addressing students fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living skills.
* Conduct timely occupational therapy assessments (including tele-assessment) and provide evidence-based intervention strategies.
* Deliver direct and consultative therapy services using tele practice platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to support student access and participation.
